Toz pinta túnel no Rio de Janeiro

Toz foi convidado pela prefeitura do Rio e pela Vision Artz para pintar o Túnel Santa Bárbara.
Nas palavras do artista: "To muito feliz com esse convite pois já carregava comigo essa ideia a um tempo e tenho a região como quintal de casa, então nessa oportunidade decidi pintar meus personagens que são clássicos do grafite do Rio e que nasceram e evoluíram junto a cidade maravilhosa!"

Tinho na exposição "Para Falar de Amor"

"Para Falar de Amor" veio com o intuito de resgatar a força que a palavra de aspecto fragil “amor” tem nos dias atuais, e sua possibilidade enquanto forte, de ser uma solução as questões reais, passando por desconfortos e se colocando acima de outras alternativas. É uma mostra que traz facetas reflexivas sobre amor.
Com dupla curadoria, Kaue Fuoco traz seu expertise em tratar questões de forma lúdica em experiências de acolhimento com a plataforma Kura.
Saulo di Tarso traz um enorme peso museológico e sua curadoria como forma de obra de arte, trazendo inúmeras interpretações sobre o amor ao longo do percurso da humanidade e artistas atuais que espalham carinho ou trazem reflexões sobre o poder do amor e suas formas.

Tinho no Festival NaLata

A 5ª edição do NALATA Festival aconteceu em São Paulo, unindo artistas brasileiros e internacionais em uma celebração da arte urbana com uma parceria inédita com o STRAAT, renomado museu de grafite e arte de rua de Amsterdã. O NALATA Festival 2024 é mais do que um evento cultural — é uma celebração da arte urbana. Durante os oito dias de evento, São Paulo foi o ponto de encontro global para artistas e apreciadores de arte. Afinal, a proposta do evento anual é transformar o espaço público da cidade em um museu a céu aberto.

Hal Wildson's solo exhibition at the London embassy

Artist Hal Wildson, represented by Galeria Movimento, was the winner of the second edition of the Anglo-Brazilian BREEZE award, which, together with the LATITUTE platform for Brazilian art galleries, promotes the internationalization of the Brazilian art market.

Curated by Lucas Albuquerque, the artist's solo debut outside the country uses the idea of reforestation as a tool to reflect on the formation and future of Brazil, in search of gentle alternatives to confront systems of oppression and the marginalization of identities.

Hal Wildson at the Lucca Bienale Cartasia

Hal presents his Utopia Original series during the Lucca Bienale Cartasia, which takes place between June and September. The event combines art, architecture, culture, philosophy and education, and has paper as its main matrix and support.

Edu Monteiro at the UFF Arts Center

Edu opens the exhibition “FORCE, TENSION AND BALANCE: THE MAGIC TRIAD OF EDU MONTEIRO” at the UFF Gallery in Niterói. It presents some new paintings, as well as photographs, sculptures and audiovisual installations that were part of his last three solo exhibitions: Dança de Combate (Sesc Copacabana - 2024), Corpos em Luta (Galeria Movimento - 2019) and Costas de Vidro (Z42 - 2018). Shows that explore three African and diasporic combat dances: Laamb from Senegal, Capoeira from Brazil and Ladja from Martinique. The curatorship is by photographer, educator, visual artist and Angolan native, Marina S. Alves.

Pedro Carneiro at Sesc Madureira

Sesc Madureira opens the exhibition “Antes que a Memória me Esqueça”, with works by Pedro Carneiro, an artist born and raised in Oswaldo Cruz, a neighboring neighborhood. With 40 works, the exhibition is the largest solo exhibition by Pedro Carneiro, member of important collectives such as “Um Defeito de Cor”, “Carolina Maria de Jesus: Um Brasil para os Brasileiros” and Bienal do Mercosul. The curation is by Raphael Couto, and critical text by Clara Machado.
The works on display address a family universe, which has as its starting point the two matriarchs of the artist's family, Ridete and Luiza.

The represented artists Hal Wildson and Xico Chaves are participating in the exhibition “Brasília: the art of democracy”.
Curated by Paulo Herkenhoff, the exhibition opens on April 12, 2024 at the FGV headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro.

The press conference is open to the public until July 14, 2024.

Talk "Biennial Phenomenon" with Caroline Fucci

In partnership with Paula Mesquita, on 10/17 we had a conversation about the phenomenon of Biennials with Caroline Fucci at the Movimento gallery.

Caroline is a curator and doctoral candidate researching Brazilian contemporary art in biennials at the University of Leicester, England.

With the 35th São Paulo Biennale this year, the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024 and another 270 biennials around the world, Caroline presented a historical overview of the main discussions surrounding the biennale format and its role in the art world.

Toz at FGV Arte

FGV Arte inaugurates its space on Praia de Botafogo with the exhibition "The fourth constructive generation in Rio de Janeiro". Curated by art critic Paulo Herkenhoff, the exhibition brings together works by 47 artists from Rio de Janeiro, of different generations and languages.
Toz participates in the exhibition with works from the "Zero Gravity" series.
In addition to exhibitions, FGV Arte also offers seminars, methodological workshops and practical training courses for the arts.

Hal Wildson participates in the Amazon Biennial

Artist Hal Wildson participates in the first Amazon Biennial with 8 works that belong to two important series of his research, one of which is "Singularities". For the last 4 years the artist has been working on fingerprints and photographic portraits of the Brazilian people, for the first time more than 2250 fingerprints (typescripts) have been gathered in this unprecedented montage that is part of the Biennale in the city of Belém do Pará. His research is a dive profound in the construction of the different Brazils that constitute the idea of identity and belonging. In his works, the artist questions these "Brazilian projects" permeated by the violence of forgetfulness as a power strategy. Social struggles and the right to tell and write history are political tools in the artist's body of work.

Hal Wildson participates in exhibition in Goiânia

Hal Wildson participates in the exhibition "Opening horizons" at the Octo Marques Cultural Center, Goiânia. The exhibition is an overview of the most recent production and presents 100 works by 25 young artists, from Goiás or who maintain different levels of relations with Goiás. The curatorship is signed by Dalton Paula, Divino Sobral and Paulo Duarte-Feitoza.

Exhibition arrives at MAR, in Rio de Janeiro, with the participation of artists Marcos Roberto and Pedro Carneiro

An important protagonist of our history, who denounced racism and social inequalities in her books. “Carolina Maria de Jesus: a Brazil for Brazilians”, the new exhibition here at MAR, in partnership with Instituto Moreira Salles, opens on Saturday, June 24th. The show presents the trajectory of this black multi-artist from the favela who overcame her social conditions to become one of the most important writers in the country.

With photographs, manuscripts, videos and documentary material, in addition to several works of contemporary art that dialogue with Carolina's life and work, the exhibition is an opportunity to celebrate her legacy and reinforce the importance of her work.
The represented artists Marcos Roberto and Pedro Carneiro participate in this important and necessary exhibition.

Toz opens exhibition on Mac in Niterói

Toz inaugurates the exhibition “All the collors” at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Niterói, presenting 24 new works inspired by the character “The Joy Vendor”.
“In the exhibition, the character is not alone, but united with his peers, hand in hand, infinitely multiplying in space-time; a way of reverberating the plurality and equality that Toz seeks to raise awareness in his research and in this exhibition.
Works are also presented that transpose the figurative — that is, the physical representation of “The joy Vendor” — and that approach geometry and abstraction from its elements, such as the circle, the members, and the spatial environment in which is inserted: the sky” says curator Cammila Ferreira.

Tinho at Itaú Cultural SP

Street art is the central theme of the collective exhibition “Beyond the streets: graffiti stories” at Itaú Cultural until July 30, in which our represented artist Tinho participates with a collaborative installation.
Galeria Movimento has in its history the vocation of supporting and encouraging the discussion between urban art and contemporary art.
The exhibition, curated by @binho3m, runs until July 30th.

Tinho in "Visible Irrealities"

The artist Tinho participated in the collective artistic occupation project in São Paulo, “Irrealidades Visíveis”.
The exhibition, which occupied three floors in the old Telesp building, in República, in the central region of the city, aims to re-signify relations with space, reintegrating it through new perspectives, between destruction and creation.

RE-UTOPYA Flag in Sapucaí

The flag RE-UTOPYA by the artist and poet Hal Wildson, participated in the parade of the Beija-Flor de Nilópolis samba school along with works by other great artists such as Abdias do Nascimento, Rosana Paulino, Mulambo and Aline Bispo.
“The word Re-Utopya provokes reconstruction, rewriting, reinvention and union of our people, so multiple and so unique, to reinvent Brazil so that this place is fairer for everyone. Different from a utopia never achieved, Re-Utopya is the construction of a bridge in the present sustained by the power of ancestry, with the strength of memory to fight for symbolic power, for the power of narratives, for the power to raise a flag that represents a fairer project for the country, which matches the theme of this year's Beija-Flor”, which is "Brava Gente, the cry of the excluded in the bicentennial of independence", explained the artist.

HAL WILDSON IN ARTISTIC RESIDENCE AT INCLUSARTIZ

Multimedia artist and poet of mestizo origin, Hal Wildson was chosen through an unprecedented partnership between Inclusartiz and the traditional paraense exhibition ARTE PARÁ, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, for the artistic residency at Inclusartiz in January 2023.

HAL WILDSON IS ELECTED 2nd BEST ARTIST OF THE YEAR

We are happy to announce that our artist, Hal Wildson, was placed within the top 3 “Best Artists of the Year 2022”, by the prestigious seLecT magazine.

In addition, Hal Wildson participated in the 40th edition of the Arte Pará Project, alongside the artist Pedro Carneiro, who also participates in the exhibition “Um defeito de cor” at “Museu de Arte do Rio”. Both exhibitions were chosen among the top 3 in the "Exhibition of the Year" category.

The artist Xico Chaves will hold the solo exhibition “Trama/objeto pintura” at the Paço Imperial Heritage Cultural Center from November 30, 2022, from 12:00 to 18:00. The exhibition brings together unpublished works by the artist from different periods, from his series of works “Indios Extintos”, from 1989, in allusion to peoples and villages decimated and disappeared in our colonization process.
The exhibition will occupy the Terreirinho do Paço, on the ground floor with paintings in mineral pigments on artisanal and industrial paper, wooden objects, object-paintings in various materials. The curatorship is by Ricardo Ventura and the artist, and the critical text is by Alberto Saraiva.

Xico Chaves is a great reference in contemporary art, with Notório Saber in Visual Arts by the University of Brasília (UnB), he participated in several contemporary poetic and artistic movements and exhibitions, in Brazil and abroad. It has song lyrics recorded by several partners and interpreters. He has been dedicated to multimedia languages in contemporary art, research and use of mineral pigments in visual arts. Performs works of artistic creation in TV, video, photography and visual poetry.

He participated in the iconic exhibition "How are you, the 80 generation?", at EAV/Parque Lage, in addition to several national and international collective and individual exhibitions. He received the special prize at the IV Bienal Internacional du Film sur L`Art – Art – Cinéma, with the video “Xico Chaves – Trajectory of a Painting”, by Felipe Lacerda and Patrícia Bromirsky, Center Georges Pompidou, Paris.

His works are part of the collections of the museums: MNBA (Rio), MASP (SP), MAC (SP), Museu de Arte de Brasília (MAB) and Museu da República – DF, and permanent work on the mezzanine of the Praça da Metrô Station Republic, in São Paulo. He has a book about his trajectory published in 2011 by Oi Futuro in the Arte e Tecnologia Collection.
