Paulo Vieira practices drawing daily, and his art is entirely tied to the process of discovery and inquiry, sometimes obsessively. His work does not reveal itself in a simple way, as it presents carefully articulated images revolving around the ideas of isolation, incommunicability, and inner life. His self-portraits, or crypto-portraits, as defined by curator Mauro Trindade, present his characters in a non-linear narrative, in timeless and unsettling universes.
